A 26-year-old tradesman, who appeared in court on an assault charge, has been warned to stay at least 50 yards away from the complainant until the matter is adjudicated.
Rico Kemar Chandler, of Sundown Road, Skeete’s Road, Jackmans, St Michael, is accused of committing the criminal act against Rozel Roberts on March 13, occasioning her actual bodily harm.
He pleaded not guilty to the charge but the prosecutor was concerned that the two, who share a child, also live in the same home.
After Magistrate Douglas Frederick was assured that Roberts had already left the dwelling, he granted the accused $3,000 bail with a warning that he must stay away from the woman.
The case continues in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court on August 14.
