Girl Guides took the opportunity to reach out to persons in the Rockfield community on International Coastal Clean Up Day after they had completed their tasks in the Bay.
The outreach activity was undertaken by Brownies of 50th, 54th and 92nd Barbados of the Christ Church Girls’ School under the supervision of leaders Wanda Reid-Beckles and Ruth Sargeant. Working in pairs the girls headed north into the community, meeting, greeting and sharing out flyers about the 95th anniversary camp to be held at ‘Branckers’, Rockfield, St. Lucy next year.
The sweltering sun was no match for the enthusiasm of the girls who proudly introduced themselves to every householder as members of the Girl Guides Association and talked about the upcoming international camp. Special thanks to the residence for their hospitality.
