As mentioned in the today’s other article, techno tools, though powerful, must be used correctly. This also goes for us in our day to day lives. The time and place of use is just as important as what they are used for.

Using your mobile while its charging has proven to be deadly in China, but there is an even more deadly, much wider practice that takes the lives of teens just about every other week.

Texting and driving is a very large problem worldwide, and mobile service provider giant AT&T is on a mission to stop it. It has launched a campaign called “It Can Wait”, which seeks to educate today’s youth about the dangers of texting and driving with the form of a touching documentary. But AT&T is also looking to completely stop it with AT&T DriveMode, an app that when enabled and the vehicle is moving at 25 mph or faster, automatically sends a customizable auto-reply message to incoming texts, letting your friends know you’re behind the wheel and will reply when it’s safe.

The app is available for AT&T customers for free and is available for Android and Blackberry devices. But oddly enough, it’s not available for the company’s flagship smartphone, the Apple iPhone.

There is even a simulator which really bangs home the dangers of texting and driving.
