A 24-year-old man, who appeared in court charged with two criminal offences, has been remanded to prison for the next 28 days after he was unable to provide a surety.
However, if Malcolm Jamal Goddard, of no fixed place of abode, finds someone to sign bail on his behalf before March 1, he will be released from jail.
Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant offered the bail after Goddard pleaded not guilty to stealing a bicycle worth $1,245, belonging to Venice White on October 6, 2017.
Goddard was also handed a six-month suspended sentence for having $10 worth of cannabis in his possession on January 31.
The illegal drugs were found in his pocket during a police search.
“I forgot that in there,” he reportedly told lawmen at the time.
