Damien Debarge Wilkinson
Police prosecutor Neville Watson convinced the court that Damien Debarge Wilkinson should be remanded into custody at HMP Dodds.
Wilkinson, 31, of Jordan’s Lane, The City, St Michael had pleaded not guilty to entering Astride Leon’s house on September 9, and stealing a laptop valued $800, four pairs of earrings valued $360, a $30 pendant, a $70 ring and $50 in cash.
The unemployed man is also accused of stealing a backpack valued at $100 and an $80 skateboard belonging to Brandi Wommack.
Despite Wilkinson’s plea, the police prosecutor argued that the accused was not a proper candidate for bail based on his antecedents.
Watson went to explain that if the accused was granted bail he feared that further allegations of a similar nature would surface.
Asked by Magistrate Douglas Frederick whether he had anything to say with regard to the prosecutor’s objections, Wilkinson said: “I ain’t believe that I should be kept in jail, but there ain’t nothing I can say right now.”
He re-appears in the No 2 Court on October 10.
