Magistrate Douglas Frederick today imposed the sentence on Rock Hall, St Thomas resident Guy Anthony Norde, who had been charged with assaulting Jeanelle Daniel on February 11, occasioning her actual bodily harm.
If Norde fails to pay the money, he will spend one month at HMP Dodds.
After the court heard the facts from the police prosecutor in the District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court, Norde was also placed on a bond to keep the peace and be of good behaviour for the next six months. If that order is breached, he will spend three months in jail.
In another case, a 29-year-old speedboat operator appeared before Magistrate Frederick charged with an offence that allegedly occurred a year ago.
Mario Andre Davidson Depeiza of White Hall, St Andrew denied inflicting serious bodily harm on Witson Campbell on February 16, 2016.
There were no objections to bail from the police prosecutor, which resulted in Depeiza being granted bail in the sum of $3,000.
He was ordered by the magistrate to return to court on August 14.
In a separate matter which engaged the attention of Magistrate Frederick, a man was not required to plead when he made his first appearance yesterday on a charge involving a female.
Terry Emmerson Dellimore, 38, of Browne’s Gap, Sergeant’s Village, Christ Church, is accused of committing indecent assault against the female on January 12, 2017.
There was no objection to bail from the prosecutor and he secured his freedom on a $5,000 surety and will return to court on August 10.
Another case which also came up for hearing yesterday was that of Colvin Fitz Collymore, of 19 Bayswater Garden, Deacons, St Michael.
He denied three drug charges when he appeared before Magistrate Frederick in the No. 1 District ‘A’ Criminal Court.
Collymore is charged with the February 13 offence of possession, possession with intent to supply and trafficking of cocaine.
Collymore, who was released on $3,000 bail, returns to court on August 10.
