A 35-year-old PSV operator, who yesterday admitted to cuffing his ex-girlfriend in the head, has been warned to stay away from her.
Karlos Kurtis Omar Bourne, of 376 Kingsland Terrace, Christ Church, pleaded guilty to committing the offence against Sorina Rock on January 30 after she refused to move back in with him.
However, he was remanded overnight after he had no surety to sign bail on his behalf in the No. 2 District ‘A’ Magistrates’ Court.
He returned today for another shot at bail, but Rock, who was scheduled to appear in court on February 9, show up instead.
“He has all my clothes locked away and I can’t get any to put on. I want you to warn him to stay away from me [because] he threatened me,” Rock told Magistrate Kristie Cuffy-Sargeant even as she made it clear that she did not want any compensation for her injuries.
The magistrate informed Rock that she would have to seek the assistance of the police in getting her belongings and placed Bourne on a bond to keep the peace and be on his best behaviour for the next year.
“You are not to threaten, harass or intimidate her in any way,” the magistrate warned.
If Bourne breaches the order he will be fined $1,500 forthwith or spend six months in prison.
