CARIFTA Spotlight – Ashley Weekes

Thirteen-year-old Ashley Weekes believes every child should learn to swim. She began her love affair with the pool at the age of five and now she can hardly stay away.

This St. Michael Secondary School student who is also an athlete believes hard work equals success and that’s why she’s elated with her CARIFTA results.

“I feel that I have achieved my goal. I feel really, really good.”

Like her counterparts, Ashley is now looking ahead to the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Federation (CCCAN) Championship and she’s expecting to make her country proud once again.

Its on to the Central American and Caribbean Swimming Federation Championship for Ashely.
