Buckets of fun

Did somebody say bucket???

The power being cut twice could not stop the hundreds of patrons who attended this year’s Brewster’s Road Crew’s Bucketfest from partying hard.

The big band krosfyah with lead vocalists, Edwin and Khiomal took the crowd on a musical journey with a number of hit songs which included We Ready to Go, Christening, Middle of De Road, Last Man Standing, Sak Pase.

Also performing alongside krosfyah was Shal Marshall with Palance, and Type Ah Wine. With every tune that was played the crowd sang along with them. During their set they brought to stage Sanctuary who sang Woman Friend and Switching.

As they have done throughout the season Porgie and Murda sent the crowd in a frenzy with their 2013 hit Condense. Credit must be given to krosfyah’s drummer, Sherwin King, from who even with the power cut kept the crowd moving .

The Trinidadian acts of Destra, Blaxx and Roy Cape All Stars represented well.

Destra hit the stage first with her usual high energy as she performed hits like Bonnie & Clyde, Tremble It, I Dare You and her new tune for Trinidad Carnival 2014 Queen ah Bachannal. She also brought two members of the audience to show how Bajans wine.

As soon as the music started up the crowd went into a frenzy as Roy Cape All Stars band introduced Blaxx’s big tune for 2013 Leh Go. Hands were up in the air as the crowd let go as the song instructed along with No Getaway and Tusty. The band sang many of the big hits which included Machel Montano’s The Fog and Patrice Roberts’ A Little Wine which came out of Trinidad’s Carnival for 2013.

The every energetic Skinny Fabulous also got the crowd hyped even in the wee hours of Thursday with his many hits which included Head Bad, 6:30 and Monster. Unprompted, a patron surprised the entertainer when she came to the stage and showed that even as a full figured woman she could still 6:30.

The other acts of the night included newly crowed Party Monarchs Soka Kartel comprising Blood and Mikey, RPB, Biggie Irie, Bobo, Alison Hinds, Lil’ Rick and the Hypa Kids, Hypasounds, and Coopa Dan. (TH)
