A virtual sea of color was on display at the National Stadium today as just under 20 bands with members dressed in brightly-coloured costumes paraded for the judges in this year’s Junior Kadooment.
Family, friends and supporters – some of whom had earlier positioned themselves to get the best vantage point along the route – cheered and applauded as the youngsters took to the stage.
The greatest response was given to veteran band leader Gwyneth Squires’ It’s a different kinda game, a depiction of characters from the world of gaming that included Mario and Luigi, Pacman and the Smurfs.
Seen as the largest band for Junior Kadooment, it was very coordinated with each section having its own choreographed moves to the delight of the audience.
The crowd also showed their appreciation for first time participants, the Girl Guides Association of Barbados with its band World of Guiding…Come Learn With Me.
Also represented were the St Peter Parish Ambassadors, who led the Young Spirits Community Celebration band.
