A vibrant display of beauty and artistic talent is on show at the St Peter Parish Church.
It is the 14th annual staging of the church’s Flower Show and Garden Festival being held under the theme Nature’s Bounty.
Between 30 and 40 floral arrangements are artfully displayed on both floors of the church, while residents sell locally made jewelry, potted plants and other items on the church grounds.
Reverend Peter Haynes said they have been able to come up with different designs for the flower show each year.
“We look for different ideas each year and this year we’ve conceptualized Nature’s Bounty to introduce lots of colour. If you look at it there are lots of rich colours portrayed through the triangles, through the vases and the flowers obviously,” he told Barbados TODAY.
“You think about the goodness of God, the goodness of nature, and creation. Everything is in there. We look around at some of the arrangements and we see that reflected. And even what might seem to be the ugliest arrangements carry the deepest meaning.”
The flower show and garden festival opened yesterday and ends on Tuesday.
