Two weeks after the sudden disappearance of her son, Sharon Callender is still hoping and praying for closure.

“In the name of God, I believe they will find my son. In the name of God above, I’m handing it all to Jesus and I know he will be found,” she said today of 20-year-old Daquan St Hill of Dash Valley, St George, who went missing on February 9.

He was last seen alive by his father Anderson St Hill in the area of Bums Variety in Dash Valley.

At the time he was said to be wearing a pink short sleeved, V-neck shirt, a pair of blue, faded three-quarter jeans and a pair of brown leather slippers.

A four-hour search last Wednesday by police and 30 members of the military failed to turn up any clues to his disappearance.

However, his mother is convinced that he was somehow abducted and killed, and is now appealing to the alleged perpetrators to release her son’s body.

“I just feel worse and worse everyday. Not hearing anything is just killing me,” she told Barbados TODAY, while revealing that she was currently suffering from a loss of appetite.

“Police told me they are still doing investigating and gaining statements. I am praying that police will get a breakthrough, so I can get some closure,” she said, adding that “I want them [the suspected abductors] to say where they took my child, and if he is dead or alive.”

Stressing that God was in charge of the situation, Callender, a devoted member of the Mapp Hill Seventh-Day Adventist Church, added that “wherever they took him, it must have been far out”.

“It is nowhere in this St George area. It hurts. As a human it will hurt, but God is in control. I give it all to Jesus. He sees and knows,” she said.
