Trade unions and private sector officials today called on all Barbadians to participate in a march next Monday, July 24, as they turn up the pressure on Government.
At a news conference a short while ago, Barbados Workers’ Union General Secretary Toni Moore and President of Barbados Private Sector Association Charles Herbert said the joint action would not affect the main ports of entry or the state-run Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
However, both officials urged local businesses to allow workers to participate in the event to show their dissatisfaction with Government’s refusal to return to negotiating table in response to their calls for a review of the crippling National Social Responsibility Levy.
