Alleyne House (Blue) were more than 100 points clear, on 1006, when the dust settled at The Alleyne School’s Inter-house sports day at the National Stadium today.

They emphatically won bragging rights from three-year defending champions Haynes (Red) House who finished third on 852 points. Read (Yellow) House who gave a good fight during the day ended on 873 points for second place, but with six of the ten division titles going to Alleyne House they were never really in the hunt. Cumberbatch (Green) House rounded out the competitors managing 736 points on the day.

Akil Howell with 49 points from Read House took the U15 boys title, Shemia Odaine with 62 points grabbed the U17 girls trophy, Delano Wickham won the U17 boys title with his 70 points, and Andresha Nicholls with 52 and Kurin Griffith with 45 took the U20 girls and boys titles respectively.

The rest of the division winners came from Alleyne House with Chloe Dupres on 49 points and Aydan Auguste with 59 taking the U13 title. Akila Wiltshire and Teon Hunte took the U15 championship with 45 and 51 points respectively, Christian Shurland won the U15 girls with 50 points, and Lee-Andre Walker’s 70 points saw him win the U15 boys category.

Wickham and Walker’s 70 points saw them share the victor ludorum title, while Odaine’s 62 points were good enough for her to stand alone as victrix ludorum.

It was a good day for 400 metres with both Walker and Odaine setting new marks at that distance. But it was Aydan Auguste in the U13 boys division who destroyed a 22-year-old record with a time of 1:02:75 to erase the standing time of 1:03:84 who really made a statement on the day.

Not to be out done Wickham also raised the bar in the high jump setting a new height of 1.86m.
