Eight-time champions O’Neal “Yellow” House were stopped in their tracks by Frederick “Red” House who are the new athletics champions at the Alexandra School.

At their inter-house sports at the National Stadium today, Frederick House broke O’Neal’s dominance thanks to top performances in the under-20 division from senior victor ludorum Agyei Phillips-Dectiville who tallied 70 points and victrix ludorum Gabrielle Reece with 75 points in the under-20 girls division.

  The champion house secured a sizable 916 points, ahead of O’Neal’s 780 and Skinner “Light Blue” House who were third with 723 points. Placing in fourth and fifth position respectively were Arnold “Dark Blue” House with 675 points and Lyson “Green” House with 554 points.

 Phillips-Dectiville stamped his authority early in the boys’ 800m which he won without any bother as well as the 400m and the 1500m.

  Competition, however, came for Phillips-Dectiville in the 100m and 200m which were won by fellow house mate Ranico Watson. In the field events which took place at the school Phillips-Dectiville was second in the long jump and discus.

 Reece won the long jump but was second in the 100m, 200m and 400m in the under-20 girls’ showdown which was dominated by Tianna Catlyn of Skinner House. Catlyn won the 1500m, 800m, 400m, 200m and also dominated the 100m.

  Under-13 boys division champion Hakeem Richards of Arnold House emerged junior victor ludorum with 45 points. Richards started the day off with a win in the 800m and that was just a warm-up for his other races including the 100m, 200m and 400m in which he had little competition.

  The junior victrix ludorum title went to under-13 queen Dymond Holder of Lyson House with a tally of 37 points. She won the 200m and 400m but had to settle for second in the 800m.
