Barbadian shooters acquitted themselves quite well in a just concluded tournament in Suriname.
Members from both the Barbados Rifle Association and the Barbados Rifle and Pistol Federation combined forces to take on top shooters from across the Caribbean region.
There were a total of 45 competitors from various regional countries including Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana, French Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago and St. Lucia.
With 21 shooters in the standard division, placing in the top 10 was Jamar Eastmond who placed seventh with 798 points and Gerard Gill who placed third with 986 points.
Placing third in the ladies category was one of Charlie’s Angels, Allison Burke who registered 483 points. Donna Barrow placed second in this category with 547 points.
The production division had 14 shooters. Barbados’ production top shooter Adrian Marshall along with Ryan Best competed in this category. They were the only Barbadian competitors in this division. Placing third with 988 points was Best while top spot the division was Marshall, winning yet another President’s medal for Barbados. Marshall won overall with 1088 points.
It was a great competition for all as shooters got to meet old acquaintances as well as share in friendly camaraderie and networking with individuals from all over the region.
